Protection for underground direct-buried cables (compatible with both Schedule 40 and 80)
Concrete-encased wiring
Electrical conduit for industrial facilities
Outdoor exposed wiring (requires UV-resistant version)
Protection for communication cables
Performance Characteristics
Dimensional Consistency: Outer diameter and wall thickness are controlled according to American Standard (ANSI/ASME) Schedule 40/80 tolerances, ensuring compatibility with standard American-specification pipe fittings.
Corrosion Resistance: Resistant to soil, acids, alkalis, and common industrial atmospheric corrosion.
Impact Resistance: Rigid PVC construction ensures the material does not easily crack under standard construction conditions.
Temperature Resistance: Suitable for a typical operating temperature range of approximately -15°C to +60°C (UV-stabilized versions offer extended service life for outdoor applications).
Flame Retardancy: Formulated with flame retardants; PVC material also possesses inherent self-extinguishing properties.
Bonding Capability: Supports solvent-welding (solvent-cementing) for convenient installation.
Installation/On-site Use
Cut the conduit to the required length along the planned routing path, ensuring the cut ends are trimmed smooth.
Use a solvent cement specifically designed for PVC to bond the conduit to fittings (such as couplings or elbows).
For direct underground burial, ensure the bottom of the trench is level; the conduit may be surrounded by fine sand for protection.
Avoid using sharp tools that could scratch the inner wall of the conduit when pulling wires through.
For outdoor installations exposed to the elements, it is recommended to use a UV-resistant (UV-stabilized) version.

Visual Inspection (100%): Ensuring the absence of bubbles, cracks, or noticeable color variations.
Batch Sampling: In-process inspections to ensure dimensional consistency.
Final Outgoing Inspection: Provision of inspection reports as per customer requirements.
FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between Schedule 40 and Schedule 80, and how should I choose between them?
The primary difference lies in wall thickness. Schedule 40 has a thinner wall and is suitable for areas with no risk of physical damage; it can be used both above and below ground. Schedule 80 has a thicker wall and is designed for areas prone to physical damage—for example, exposed sections extending from the ground. Both share the same outer diameter, making them compatible with the same fittings; however, the increased wall thickness of Schedule 80 results in a slightly smaller inner diameter, which reduces the available space for pulling wires. Selection guide: Use Schedule 40 for standard underground or concealed installations, and use Schedule 80 for locations above ground that are exposed to potential external impact.
Q2: Can dimensions and colors be customized?
Yes, customization is available. Both Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 can be manufactured to your specifications, including length (10 ft, 20 ft, or custom lengths), color, and the addition of belled (flared) ends. For outdoor, exposed applications, we recommend using a UV-resistant (UV-stabilized) version.
Q3: What are the key considerations during installation?
After cutting the conduit, you must thoroughly remove all internal and external burrs to prevent damage to the cable insulation during wire pulling. It is recommended to use a primer before applying solvent cement; many inspectors look for the presence of purple primer residue as proof of compliance. The total number of degrees of bends in any single run of conduit should not exceed 360°; if it does, an additional junction box must be installed. For direct-burial underground installations, it is advisable to use metal elbows instead of PVC elbows, as the friction generated during wire pulling can potentially cut through PVC fittings.
Q4: What are the depth requirements for underground burial?
According to standard U.S. codes, PVC conduit is typically buried at a depth of 18 inches (approx. 45 cm). For circuits rated at 120V and 20A or less that are equipped with GFCI (Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection, this depth may be reduced to 12 inches (approx. 30 cm). Always refer to local building codes or the project owner’s specifications for specific requirements.
Q5: Are there any temperature limitations?
PVC conduit should not be installed in environments where the temperature exceeds 50°C. Additionally, PVC becomes brittle in extremely cold temperatures, so extra care should be taken during installation in such conditions. The standard operating temperature range is approximately -15°C to +60°C; UV-resistant modified versions are available to extend service life for outdoor use.
Q6: Is the export packaging suitable for containerized ocean shipping?
Yes. We use standard strapped packaging with protective sleeves on the pipe ends to prevent damage; this is suitable for shipment in 20GP or 40HQ containers. Shipping marks can be printed according to customer requirements.
Q7: Can you also supply the necessary pipe fittings?
Yes. We can provide elbows, couplings, adhesive, and other accessories in the same shipment, allowing for one-stop procurement.
