Performance Advantages

  • Non-toxic,sanitary, corrosion-resistant ,and resistant to scaling, eliminating concerns about pipe scaling and the formation of yellow stains and rust in sinks and bathtubs.Complies with the GB/18742.1-3-2017 standard

  • High-temperature resistance (instantaneous maximum water temperature can reach 95°C, pressure resistance test strength can exceed SMPa)

  • Thermal insulation and energy saving. The thermal conductivty is only 1/200 of metal pipes, resulting in excellent thermal insulation and energy-saving effects in hot water pipelines

  • Smooth inner wall of the pipes, low resistance.Fast water flow and minimal transmission noise in the pipes, reducing noise by 40% compared to galvanized pipes and minimizing pressure loss

  • Lightweight. The density is only 1/8 of metal pipes, making it easy to transport and reducing construction intensity.

  • Easy installation. Pipes and fittings are joined by heat fusion, eliminating leakage and reducing construction costs.

  • Long service life. Under normal conditions, the service life can exceed 50 years.

  • Aesthetic appearance, good flexibility, impact resistance, and low-temperature resistance.

Application Scope

  • Cold and hot water supply systems in residential and industrial buildings.

  • Water distribution systems in schools, hospitals, swimming pools, gardens, and greenhouses.

  • Potable water systems and pipelines in the food industry.

  • Heating and floor heating systems.

  • Central air conditioning systems.

Welding Steps

  • Cut the pipe using a pipe cutter in a vertical manner. After cutting, clean the cut end thoroughly.

  • Mark the insertion depth on the pipe (equal to the insertion depth of the fitting).

  • Heat both the pipe and the fitting up to the marked insertion depth using the welding tool.

  • Once the heating time is complete, smoothly and evenly insert the pipe into the fitting, creating a strong and secure connection.

Fusion Welding Precautions:

  • During winter, after pressure testing during project acceptance, it is necessary to drain the water from the pipes to prevent freezing damage caused by water accumulation inside the pipes.

  • During transportation or storage of the products, avoid direct sunlight exposure and prolonged exposure, and keep them away from heat sources.

  • PP-R pipelines have a relatively high expansion coefficient, When installing pipelines for exposed or buried applications, measures must be taken to prevent thermal expansion and deformation of the pipes

  • For exposed or non-directly buried concealed installations, proper supports and hangers must be installed according to regulations.

  • During construction, adhere to relevant design and construction specifications, and construction personnel should undergo technical training.

  • PP-R products are suitable for use above 0°C.

Precautions for Expansion When Temperature Difference is Large:

  • Install pipes in the shaft:

When installing pipelines in vertical shafts, the main pipe will experience vertical thermal expansion and contraction between two floor slabs. A fixed bracket

should be installed near each branch of the main pipe. The spacing between brackets should not exceed 3 meters. Other methods can also be used for compensation, such as using the branch pipes of the main pipe for natural compensation.

  • External Piping Network:

At locations where the direction of the pipeline changes, elbow supports can be used to compensate for expansion. In special cases, "U"-shaped loop pipes can be used for expansion compensation, primarily for pipes with sizes Dn50 to Dn100. When positioning anchor points, it's important to separate the pipeline into various sections, allowing the expansion force to be directed in the desired direction.

For pipes with sizes Dn50 to Dn100, mechanical restraints can be used to prevent expansion.

  • Three, Concealed Piping:

Concealing pipes within walls, floors, and similar structures can prevent expansion. It's important to ensure that pressure and tension forces are absorbed without damaging various finishing materials. If there are isolation materials inside the pipes (which should meet standards), these materials allow for more expansion. The outside diameter of the pipes should not exceed Dn25mm. If the operating environment temperature is below 5°C, the heating time should be extended by 50%.

FAQ

Q1: What is the service life of PPR water supply pipe?

A: Compliant with ISO 15874 & DIN 8077 standards. Under continuous working condition at 70℃ and rated pressure, the designed service life can reach up to 50 years. Actual service life depends on fusion installation, UV exposure, real‑world water pressure & temperature. Proper installation is required to achieve rated lifespan.

Q2: Why do PPR joints leak? Is it pipe quality defect?

A: Most joint leaks result from improper installation instead of pipe quality. Common causes: wrong fusion temperature (ideal 260±10℃), twisting pipe during socket fusion, over‑tightening brass threaded inserts, external impact damage.Always wait 24 hours after heat fusion before hydrostatic pressure test. Do not cover pipes in wall until pressure test passes.

Q3: What temperature can PPR pipes withstand? How to choose PN rating for hot / cold water?

A: Max continuous working temperature: 70℃; short‑term peak temperature up to 95℃.

Cold‑water supply: PN10 / PN16

Hot‑water plumbing: PN20 (SDR6) recommended. Do not use thin‑wall low‑PN pipes for hot‑water lines to avoid swelling or bursting under heat and pressure.

Q4: Can PPR pipes be used outdoors under direct sunlight?

A: Not recommended for bare outdoor exposure. Long‑term UV radiation causes brittleness and micro‑cracks. If installed outdoor, cover pipes with UV‑proof protective sleeve. For storage, keep in shaded warehouse, avoid open‑air stacking. Buried / in‑wall installation works fine without UV risk.

Q5: Will PPR crack in cold winter weather?

A: PPR material shows low‑temperature brittleness below 5℃. Do not drop, hammer or impact pipes during cold‑season installation. Use sharp pipe cutter. Protect finished piping from heavy impact and crushing after installation.

Q6: Does pipe color affect PPR performance?

A: Pipe color comes from color masterbatch and does not change core material performance. Check raw‑material quality, wall thickness and international standards. Dark‑colored light‑shield PPR inhibits algae growth. Do not select pipes only by color; verify wall‑thickness compliance with DIN / ISO specifications.

Q7: What is correct PPR fusion temperature? Any fusion warnings?

A: Recommended socket fusion temperature: 260‑270℃. Insert pipe straight into fitting, DO NOT twist. Allow natural cooling, never quench with cold water. Over‑heating causes melted plastic to clog inner bore, reducing water flow and creating hidden failure risks.

Q8: How to perform hydrostatic pressure test after installation?

A: Wait 24 hours after fusion before pressure testing. Test pressure shall be 1.5‑2 times system working pressure, hold pressure for minimum 30 minutes. Acceptance criteria: no obvious pressure drop and zero joint seepage. Always pass pressure test before concealing pipes inside wall or floor screed.

Q9: Does PPR pipe get limescale buildup? Safe for drinking‑water?

A: Smooth inner surface greatly reduces limescale scaling. Virgin PPR raw material contains no heavy‑metal additives, safe for potable‑water supply system. Avoid low‑grade PPR made from recycled scrap plastics.

Q10: Can you offer samples, OEM custom logo & packaging? What is MOQ?

A: Samples available for quality evaluation. OEM logo printing and custom packaging supported. Standard length: 4m per piece, special sizes negotiable. MOQ flexible for project orders. Contact us for quotation and certification documents (ISO, CE etc).
